Position : Junior Developer - Apparel and Accessories (SWL)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Product Developer SUPPORTS development of apparel product line while supporting Development TEAM for measuring protos, wear test sample distribution, organization of inbound materials / garments, fedex tracking / shipping, costing preparation for team and cross checking system information.  Responsible for BOM accuracy, calendar tracking, SMS discrepancy lists, checking inbound product for accuracy.

Position requires fit experience, spec writing and ideally some experience with 3D / virtual prototyping applications.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports Developers in product reviews of all garment stages ? prototypes, size run samples, PRE-line samples, salesman samples from concept thru finalization.  Ensures evaluations and approvals adhere to production timelines and Smartwool quality standards.  Integrates all wear testing assessments into final comments.

 

Must possess exceptional attention to details.  Creates comprehensive and accurate spec packages & BOMs.  Ensures they are maintained in Enovia and communicated in a timely manner to our factories & VF partners. Maintains all relevant tracking info in Enovia & development trackers, check in & measure all samples.  Supports team members when workload intensity shifts.

 

Under supervision of Developer, manage the fit approval process with team executing on fit intent.  Ensure construction alternatives are brought to the table with design intent & cost value in mind.  Virtual prototyping software experience (ie: CLO3D, Shima) and modern development process & protocol is preferred.

 

Support research on consumer reviews on relevant products to identify development improvements.  Assist in managing the wear test sample distribution.

 

Interact with Merchandising & Design teams to facilitate an easy communication flow.  Dynamic personality to engage with the team.
