Position: Assistant Technical Designer

Job description

Assistant Tech designer/ developer: Provide technical expertise on behalf of the design and development teams and create accurate technical packages including specs and construction details for menswear product and special projects product

Responsibilities

• Provide construction details for all new designs by partnering with creative team
• Measure and prepare samples before fit sessions
• Take fit notes during fitting and file all notes accurately in PLM system
• Partner with PD team on daily basis to manage the sample approval status and maintain company time/action calendar
• Work directly with in house pattern team to ensure proper corrections are made
• Provide in house QC for all samples
• Create proper tech packs for all styles including specs and construction details
• Own Bill of Materials from initial design creation to production hand off
• Ensure proper tech data entry into PLM system and clean interface to ERP system
• Contribute to creation of garment by providing technical expertise and guiding creative team into developing a profitable product
• Opportunity to participate in 3D pattern making initiative and learn new tech design technology

Desired Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree; BS. BA. Major in fashion related curriculum
• Entry level- 1 year experience in technical design
• Strong Ai skills, Microsoft understanding
• Patternmaking and garment construction knowledge
• Precise eye for detail and color
• Live model fitting experience
• Ability to work in high volume department and interact with multiple cross-functions
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
